Fatima tun Nissa Raza, MD

  • Neuro-Ophthalmology Fellow

Fatima-tun-Nissa Raza grew up in Lahore, Pakistan. She completed her MBBS studies at King Edward Medical University (KEMU) in Lahore, followed by clinical training at Mayo Hospital, Lahore. During this time, she worked in both ophthalmology and neurology, becoming fascinated by the intricate intersection of the two. She went on to pursue her residency training in ophthalmology at Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust Eye Hospital (LRBT), the largest charity eye care provider in the country. It was during this period that she noticed the void left by the absence of a dedicated neuro-ophthalmology department, leading to patient suffering. Consequently, she is excited to join the neuro-ophthalmology team at UPMC. Her parents and her husband, Shah, have been the pillars of support throughout her journey.

In addition to her medical pursuits, she enjoys tutoring her three younger brothers in their academic studies and has a deep fondness for pet cats.
